Thanks for all the help guys. I need the X for the people room for us and the dogs. That is why I turned in the 350 when the lease was up. I love the excursion and I hope I can make it work out I will let you know.

RE: Excursion hitches?? I need help.

Reese does not list any hitches for the Excursion. GVRW on the trailer is 10,500# Tongue weight loaded is about 1,600# yes I know I need to upgrade the suspension.

Excursion hitches?? I need help.

Does anyone know if they make a 2-1/2" hitch for the X? Or any aftermarket heavier hitches to handle high tongue weight? Or can one be fabricated.

Excursion question,

Hey guys, I am looking at a 2001 Excursion with the v-10 not sure but I think 373 rear. I have a 35' tt gvrw 10,500# Heavy tongue weight, approx 1600#. I have a Reese tow beast off my 2006 F-350 rated for the weight that I want to put on the x if it will fit if not I will get one for it, will the x handle that much weight on the rear even with the right weight dist. set up? Or am I going to have to beef up the suspension?

RE: Replacing Hitch Receiver on Truck

I installed a reese tow beast on my truck and love. You wont have any issues if you go bigger than you need.

RE: Best Brewpubs---food and beer

If you ever make it Michigan stop in at Arts Tavern in Glen Arbor, good food and great times in a little northern Michigan town.www.artsglenarbor.com. I highly recomend it.

RE: Dealers must be hurting

My lease is up on my 2006 F-350 cc lb psd and ford is not giving me any break on the price to buy it outright. ????? I can not figure that one out. Guess they are getting another truck to sit on the lot with the rest of them.

RE: Ford F350

Buy more truck than you need? Did not know you could do such a thing. Less wear and tear on the larger truck.

RE: 30 A hookup at home

You need to run a 10 guage wire and depending on your box you can get gfci breakers for them. This would be the easiest way to go.

RE: Towing Saturday without sway control.

You should be fine, I tow a 6500# work trailer all the time with a w.c. hitch and no problems. 16' enclosed with all my work tools in it and you dont even know it is back there.

RE: Axles not parallel to each other - is this a problem?

Probably not a major concern but it might cause a little bit of extra tire ware and heat in the tire but I wouldnt think it be to big of deal.

Update on hitch issue.

I took the trailer and the reciever back to the dealership and they agreed that the reciever and bars that they sold me was not heavy enough to handle the trailer they sold me.:S They have ordered me a new one that will be in on monday. I was supprised it went so good and I am impressed with the new service manager at Larry's R.V. they stood behind their mistake and are replacing it at no cost to me.:B It is nice to see someone actually do the right thing. I also have a new TITAN hitch coming for the truck on monday. The guy quoted me $289.00 installed, I didnt think that was a bad price. They say we are finally gonna hit 60 on sat. WOO HOO!!!! Time to get the rig ready to go.

RE: HELP! hitch issue.

Towing with a 2006 F-350 cc,lb,psd. The trailer is 35' and not a toy hauler. The hitch is a reese with the 1000# round bars. I am still running the stock hitch on the truck till this spring and that is rated at 1250# wd.

HELP! hitch issue.

I have been looking into getting my tv/trailer to ride better and I noticed that the hitch setup the rv dealer sold me is rated at 10,000# and the bars are only 1000#, my empty sticker weight is 7600# with a GVWR of 10,400# the dry hitch weight is listed at 1140#. Should I be taking this back and getting a heavier hitch? It was dumb on my part but I figured they would sell me an appropriate hitch set up since it was purchased with the trailer from them and all set up new by them at the same time I never really noticed this until I started to get it adjusted to ride better. I have had the setup since May of 2007. Any suggestions??????

RE: Awning tie downs

I just went to the local pet store and picked up a couple of the heavy duty dog cork screws and use ratchet straps from home depot. This set up works great.
